Hello From New Zealand

Post by mahziii »

Hello all
Recently purchased a go kart that has a Honda RC17E bolted in. Been researching to try and figure out the wiring. Signed up to check out all the info on this site.

Bought this as a father and son project. Lots to learn about and refuse to pay someone else to do it for me.

Last owned bike was a Suzuki TLR 1000, was a few years ago now tho. Have also owned Honda Cb900 boldor, CBR400 RR, CBR250RR, Yamaha 650 special (first road bike) a relation of mine also has the CBX Six cylinder. He had two but sold one a few years ago.

Anyway hoping to find the answers here To get this buggy going.

Welcome to the site, mahzii.
This site is mostly dedicated to the six cylinder model but some mechanical issues are universal.
http://www.teamrc17.net/ is a site dedicated to your model.

Thanks for that.
Would have joined the teamrc17 site but it's not as easy as here. Diagrams I need from there come up not found 404 errors or something like that.

Welcome, mahziii!

I am afraid you will have difficulty finding wiring information about the application you have anywhere. Whoever built the project probably did something unique. As far as the engine is concerned, there are only two major paths to make it work - the ignition and the alternator/charging circuit. Is that what you are looking for?

Welcome

But don't let that we are mainly sixes turn you off! We are all petrol heads here. A while ago we discussed what defines a "CBX" and it was pretty much general consensus that the engine determines it all. 6 or 4, all the same to a motorhead like me. I would really like to see pics of that lil' hot rod! Actually, I am thinking that would be down right scary performance!
