Re: Candy apple red painters
Does anyone have a telephone number for the painter Mark Byrd? During the move to Atlanta my tank got scratched so I e-mailed Mark last month to see if he could help and he said to just send it and he would fix it.
I have followed up many times via e-mail as to whether he received the tank but have not heard back so was hoping to call him. Any help would be much appreciated. Ross

Thanks, I caught up with him today. Seems like I had an old e-mail address that he raely uses now. I will post pictures of the tank once it is back in a week or so.

Re: Candy apple red painters
I received my red 79 CBX bodywork back from Mark Byrd and I am very pleased with his paint work and service. His prices are more than fair and he does what he says he will do. I plan to send my silver 79 CBX bodywork to him in the future. I highly recommend Mark and his service to other CBXers needing paint work.

Yes but Blake Conway does, and did an excellent job on my CGR bodywork a few months back:

Re: Candy apple red painters
I just got my bodywork back from Tims. I sent Bill my tank (dented on both sides) tail section (cracked with missing material) and my front fender. It all came back yesterday looking as close to perfect as I could hope for. You would never know the tank was dented and the tail section looks fantastic. I am very pleased with the color (Candy Glory Red) and the application. No orange peel. Smooth as glass. It looks factory or maybe better then factory. My hat is off to Bill's painter. He is an artist.

I tried Steve. Can't do it justice with the lighting in my shop and it was in the single digits outside the day I received them back so daylight was out of the question. When she gets out in the sunshine I would be glad to share some pics!

Oh, and I'll take this opportunity to concede to all of the folks in the Northern States. Single digits is nothing I agree. Guess I'm just turning into a softie in my old age!

Re: Candy apple red painters
There are at least 3 'this guys' mentioned in this thread. Mark Byrd is the only one not painting any more, as was stated above. Nils' painter in CA and Bill's painter in TN are still in business, unless you have some breaking news about either of them.
I'll take this opportunity to reiterate here a current trend both here and other forums and on the Facebook CBX group - many guys don't read the entire thread and end up posting confusing comments/questions. Most of us are pretty patient and will answer the same questions multiple times, but in this case, the thread was there just begging to be read.
