oil pump chain

Hi Guys
I'm still learning about CBX's, so I'm after your advice again
My oil pump chain seems very slack. Is this normal? has anyone ever had a chain slip off the sprockets and cause the pump to stop? can you recommend a replacement or has anyone taken a link out of the chain to tighten it up?
it worries me as I've spent a fortune on reconditioning of the engine including a re con pump. The does not even have any guide of any description.

Sounds like they are loose from the factory.
