Anyone know what the rubber molding piece covering the metal clip on the front edge of the fuel tank is actually for?
Mine were missing , not available from Honda but are available from CMSNL. I ordered 2 but I am curious what it actually does.

Some of us have been wondering for years about that.... Maybe protects the edges during installation
