Hello to all.
Just finished getting the 1000 mile "well baby" check and service on my restored 1980 SS. It had a hiccup or two after delivery from Tim's but to their credit, Bill Brint helped me through them all.
I was finally able to open this machine up after being restricted to 6K rpm during breakin and have to say that it has an awesome 4th gear !
There were some clutch issues ( hard to find neutral, difficult to shift at a stop when hot, etc.) and what it took to fix all that was a used OE clutch cable adjuster on the handlebar clutch handle mount. The one that came on it fit the mount perfectly but it's inside diameter was too small to allow the nipple on the end of the cable housing to seat down inside the body of the adjuster. I think the CBX cable housing may be of a larger diameter than most Honda cables to handle the CBX clutch and it has it's own adjuster that has a bigger diameter cable housing hole in it. Anyway, Bill was able to come up with one and that seems to have fixed all the clutch issues on the machine. Bill's engine man (Roger) talked me through the adjustment procedure starting from the clutch pack lock nut and working up.
Looking forward to putting more miles on this sweet machine! Has anyone found better aftermarket brakes for this model? It is a little shy in this department but is otherwise a dream to ride and always gets comments at stops.
Cheers
Jim

Hi ya, Jim.
Nice to hear of the follow-up from Tims.
All the attention these beauties receive at any stop is a big part of CBX ownership.
