Hi From Thailand

Post by Bird_Of_Prey »

Hi

Great to join the site, my old man had a CBX 1000 when I was 17 years old, so quite often I used to ride it with his permission, some memorable trips on the roads in Great Britain up to the West Coast of Scotland, have had a Moto Martin CBX since 2003, but now in Thailand on work location and searched high and low to find a CBX, eventually found one, the prospect of importing one was difficult @ 200 % import duty, but no chance to get a green book registration. But now I have my trusty steed complete with Green Book, ok it needs a little work and the Ethanol in country has played havoc with the carburation. I think this CBX may be the only one in Thailand,I also looked at a Z900 and there is only 5 in country, prices here are outragousley high for imported motorcycles even if they are 30 years old. But I am a happy campa, some really usefull info on the site, so great work fellas (and gals) keep posting, and lets keep the mighty 6 alive for generations to come.

Cheers Mike the Bike (aka Bird_Of_Prey)

Hi ya, Mike.
Good to hear your determination finally paid off.
A pic of the Martin and your new one would be appreciated.

yep just the start - good thing in Thailand is nobody really bothers too much about exhaust noise, so am thinking 6 into 6 meggas. the 6 into 2 sounds good, and you can hear the exhaust note echo of the big condo buildings, sounds excellent. :teasing-lurk: have a few major changes in mind. Moto Martin had the dreaded bent rod syndrome on cylinder 1, but hey a long story.
