Hello from Alberta

Post by hcbx1047 »

Biker for 38 years and CBX owner for the last seven. Just restoring what was already an '8' or so and wondering what I started! lol

Anyway, have hung around here a bit in the past looking at the articles to help steer me on the right path. Have owned a dozen+ bikes and the CBX is still the one that reminds me of why I ride. Look forward to gaining some online acquaintances or learn who is in my area with this same affliction!

I'm a mechanical engineer by profession (otherwise known as being good at taking things apart, explain how they work, and then begging someone else to put it back together :D ), and a through and through motorhead. Part owner of a prototyping and CNC machine shop and still working in oil & gas (refining and chemicals). Been to F1, MotoGP, Indycar, NASCAR, ALMS, TUSC, WoO, ProMX, etc and going to WEC in Austin, Texas in two weeks. My dream home is a shack in the middle of the Mosport racetrack! I've sledded for years, rode quads for a couple, had my share of cars (Porsches, BMW's, MB, Honda, Mazda, Toyota's, - mostly sportscars) and made a small fortune doing so - trouble is I started with a large fortune. :o

Married, four kids, all grown, wonderful wife who puts up with me (she collects high end purses so she has her own bad habits that I can counter her with!)

Recently became an owner of a small truckloads worth of spare parts and now trying to figure out how that happened! Aloha and look forward to meeting some of you.

Ted, welcome to the site and thanks for the great intro.
With your background we could be learning stuff from you although most of us here have become adept at spending money on these brutes.

Fort Saskatchewan - about 20km outside of Edmonton. Originally from Ontario but dinosaurs were still roaming around then.

Thanks for the welcome, all!
