Need part number for the larger fuel tap rubber.
There is one B tank that i would like to use and it has a bigger tap on it.The diameter of the rubber is 27 mm(nut uses a 27 spanner) as against the common one which is 21 mm(nut uses a 24 spanner and part number 16955 268 020)Is there a part number for the 27 mm diameter petrol tap rubber?

I am not sure that I know what you are asking for. The O-ring that seals the tap against the tank? If so, try 16958-MA2-771

No sorry it not the o ring,it is the rubber that has the four holes and is the same shape as the number 16955 268 020.But that rubber is 21 mm and the one i would like is 27 mm in diameter.

Ahhh - we have a nomenclature issue here: Although this is most definitely an international organization and group here on the site, you'll find a lot of "American English" spoken here. We call that part the "petcock" and if you search for <petcock rebuild> sooner or later you would turn up this post by our Techical Director Dave McMunn (daves79x):

AGAIN - The rubber for the larger petcocks from the '82s (and possibly some very late '81s) has NO KNOWN replacement. You can take it apart if you want and maybe clean it all and swell the rubber in brake fluid. Reassemble and it might work for a while. New ones are still available from Honda or go with the Pingle option.

The 82 fuel tap or petcock is the same as for the little 500cc GB500. And you might find one of these new for less $$$$, because everything with CBX on it costs a fortune.

That's why they are the same. And sometimes, they do not have the same part-number.....daves79x wrote:GB 500 and '82 CBX petcock are the same part number.

Ok its a petcock then.(It seams to be rather a rude name for a fuel tap.Wonder who named it that.)I have taken it apart, and will put the rubber in some other fluid that i use to enlarge the rubbers in the clutch hub.
