Today I finally got the bike out for it's first little run.
I always thought the front of the fender was close to tire, so on my return I checked.
Sure enough it had rubbed, is this common, is there a fix?
Thanks

Re: 79 Front Fender Droop
Welcome to the result of someone using a 110/90 front tire. Might be what's on it right now. At speed, the fender deflects enough to rub a 110/90 front tire. This has been noted many times elsewhere on the forum. Correct tire size is 100/90-19.

Not only that, but at speed the tire "grows" also!daves79x wrote: At speed, the fender deflects enough to rub a 110/90 front tire.

Re: 79 Front Fender Droop
I'll check that, thanks.
Well I checked, it is a 100/90/19, so that would seem to be the right size.
Any other ideas?

Re: 79 Front Fender Droop
Check to see if someone elongated the mounting holes, if not, then the fender has apparently drooped on it's own from being much thinner. Not much of a fix except to find a good used one.

Re: 79 Front Fender Droop
Well I elongated the mounting holes and was able to rotate the fender enough to solve the problem.
Easy fix.
