As far as the "billet bling" is concerned, there used to be great source. One of the members here lived close to an outfit named "Sundog" and they used his bike as a test bench to make parts. They are shown on a red CBX on home page pictures.
There were quite a few great parts available, but interest sort of dried up and Sunny - the owner - stopped making the parts. He sold all his inventory to one person who then tried to market the stuff, but I have not seen much lately.

It's been awhile so I don't remember which source I bought them from, but I think the stuff made its way to EBay, I contacted the seller and a very nice lady cut me a heck of a deal on 5 sets of billet crank and cam covers.

It's hard to see in this picture but I used them on the restoration of Ian Fosters 79, they were really nice pieces for the price.

Keith,
A tale of two turbos :-) I have not seen any green (or any color) Martin's for sale (or otherwise) here.

Wow! Those are a couple of serious machines! Very nice...Is that a JMC swingarm on the black bike?

The bike I was thinking of was on E-Bay about 4 months back. It was some kind of an aftermarket frame, mono shock, single sided swingarm if I remember correctly. Round tube everywhere. Most definetly green with wild custom paint. I have tried to find some images of it, no luck so far. If I do, I will post.

Thanks for the pics!

Keith, it was probably the Spondon that Tim's CBX had for sale.
Some of it is nice.

Just wanted to show a pic of the semi "finished" project. Still have a few things I would like to do, but for the most part I am pretty happy with the results. Took it out on a 30 mile shakedown run and was pretty impressed. Pulls good to about a hunny, flattens out pretty good after that.

LOL! It does sound pretty damn tough! Certainly gets plenty of heads turning!

As far as the acceleration/handling...there is something kind of settling about riding a bike that's limits are not way above your own. This thing surely lets you know when you are pushing it. To me it is an instant transport back to simpler times and the pure joy of riding. First time I bent this into a corner, I was pleasantly surprised by it's composure! Even better than I remember. Balanced.

I love the more modern bikes...but they will bite when cornered!
