Calfab Swingarm Experience Anybody?
I am considering a Calfab swingarm for one of my projects. The unit I have, has two needle bearings on each side and the inside diameter is 22mm. Has anybody ever installed one on a CBX? What are the needle bearings that fit? Or is there a sleeve that goes between bearings and swingarm axle?

Steve:
That's awesome. Exactly what I needed to see. The two short sleeves have an o/d of 22mm, which will fit inside the needle bearings on either end of the swingarm pivot. The long sleeve goes in the center between the short sleeves. If the sleeves inside dia is 14.5, they are made for the 79CBX with the 14mm swingarm axle. If I get some sleeves made with a 16+ i/d, they will fit 16mm swingarm axle.

Sounds good to me. This one came off a '79.
The bearings are marked HK2216.

The needle bearings are standard and commonly available. HK2216 is 28 od, 22 id and 16 wide. i already ordered replacements, because I had to press them out. Some PO had managed to get a small diameter sleeve inside the arm, between the bearing sets. No idea what he was trying to accomplishsteve murdoch icoa #5322 wrote:Sounds good to me. Jeff, it does have the spacer in the middle. I assumed they all did.
The bearings are in good shape so i don't want to pull them to get the dimensions of the spacer.
My Calfab will soon be heading to TomK for powder-coating.

I didn't see one in your pic and wondered what the hey, a lot of swingarm bolts are machined down in the center section to save weight and the ends of the bolt are the only area that mate with the sleeves at each end of the swingarm.steve murdoch icoa #5322 wrote:Jeff, it does have the spacer in the middle.
