Just joined the club, from Phillip Island, Australia

Post by batty »

Hi, Ben Bateman is my name or just call me "Batty". I run and own the only two Motorcycle Service and Repair business's on Phillip Island, the location of the Australian Motorcycle GP. One of my business's Classic Motorcycle Shed (http://www.classicmotorcycleshed.com.au) services and restores Classic Motorcycles. Phillip Island Motorcycles the other business caters for every other bike from scooters, race bikes, road bikes and ATV''s.

I recently bought a 1979 CBX1000Z which is a US import and have cleaned it up. Mechanically the bike is excellent. I have fitted new Pirelli Demon tyres, replaced the rear shocks with Ikon's (manufactured here in Australia) to suite my weight, installed Racetech Gold Valves and springs in front forks and repaired a few minor electrical items. Other than a tune and service the bike is in perfect condition. Now I have done the suspension and tyre upgrades including a fork brace the bike runs and handles very well. You can see pics on above mentioned website if you are interested.

I was planning to sell the bike, but today I attained club registration plates so I will enjoy it for a while.

Other bikes I own:
1982 Ducati MHR 900ss
1972 Honda CB750
1975 Honda CB750
1976 Kawazaki KZ900
2002 BMW1150GSA
2004 Suzuki GSXR1000 - RACE BIKE

Anyhow hi to all, I am looking forward to joining in on forums and if any of you are on the Island drop in.

Cheers,
Batty

Welcome to the site, Batty.
Always great to have a mechanic join the site. Nice stable of bikes as well.
I became aware of Phillip Island following the exploits of Roland Skate's CBX, The Beast. What a beautiful track.
