Update: Bike is all done - much thanks to Tony Herd of Sydney. New tires fitted (Roadriders), and though it idles high, bike is running. Carbs still need more fiddling but that can wait. Thanks to everyone here and elsewhere in the CBX community for helping me resurrect a school bike!

Looking good! Been wondering if you ever made it. Looks like some more carb work and a few odds and ends will get you all squared away.
