Warning!!! Don't buy anything from DG Performance or GM Cycle!!!
I ordered my exhaustsystem to my CBX 1000-82 in june 2012. It didn't fit, tried to get in contact with both mail, phone and their Facebook. Lots of promises but no action! Empty words!!! so this season is gone!
Mailed GM cycle who claimed that DGPerf is to contact regarding any kind of warranty issues.No reaction from DG !!!
No customer service what so ever!!
Don't waste your money!!!

Was it a standard DG 6-1? And why did it not fit? There must be thousands of these out there, that all worked...
Maybe someone here went through the same problem as you did and solved it...

In this way all the pipes fit in the cylinder.
If I mount the collector first it will be wrong angle when I attach them on the cylinder..
(Sorry for bad english...)

Freddie, DG have never been a top quality pipe but very popular and abundant. I bought a set 20 some years ago and the chrome peeled off three of the header pipes ten minutes after I started the bike, DG did replace them though.
Maybe if you clean the collector and the end of the header pipes and put a bead of high temp silicone they won't leak too bad, can you elongate the mounting hole on the muffler or make a bracket to shift the system forward some?

Wow! I thought that only happens with Harleys - that you buy an accessory or part that doesn't fit..

Freddie, sorry for your trouble.
I learned the hard way, when installing exhaust systems, to first bolt up the header pipes very loosely, so there is still a lot of movement, then join the components, bolt them up very loosely too, and only then, slowly tighten the different components. That might help force it all into a proper fit.
Jeff's suggestion is a good one, and I also use a bead of high temperature silicon RTV when I assemble slip-fit exhaust pieces that don't have fiber gaskets.

I tried everything. Mount them loosely, high temp silicone, even tried to change the angle of the pipes so they fit into the cylinder but nothing works.. Next step is to make new pipes here from Sweden.. Not funny when the season is over here in sweden in about 3 veeks...Anyone that knows how to re-angle the tubes that came with the system? (no ones living near GM Cycle/DG Perfformance and could give them a "hug" from me? : )
