ABC has a push going on to support the economy. The current thing is to buy at least one Christmas gift that is made in America. If everybody does that it could create 200,000 jobs (hard to believe ) Anyway, we decided to join. My wife and I bought ourselves a new cutting board for the kitchen. They got some really nice stuff. My suntoku will love it!

Re: Buy American
Great idea, and I will make a point of doing it too. Last Saturday was also "Small Business Saturday" and the intent was to get shoppers to buy on Main St. and not just in the mall. Another worthy objective.

N,
I will do this too. I plan to buy my wife some jewelry at a small local family owned store.

Re: Buy American
I always make it a point to try to buy local. Just yesterday I was checking out a local fire extinguisher company, rather than picking up 20# units from Lowes. I refuse to set foot in Sams or Wal-Mart.
Speaking of extinguishers, I had an insurance inspection a couple of weeks ago at my shop. He mentioned that I need extinguishers new the welding center and by each door. Not a bad idea, but quite a stack of coin. Looks like I'll spend near $1000 on American units.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Re: Buy American
I didn't used to but now I try to keep all my work done locally and as much Made in America purchases as I can.
I think it's the only way we can collectively bring work back to America.
I may be pissin in the wind though.

Don't give up, Mike! Keep going. The tide is slowly turning. The United States will have a large growth potential in the next few years and even large companies are beginning to see this.CopperCollar wrote:

I heard Marysville Ohio was struck by a tornado and fairly well demolished.

The plant still builds cars, but not motorcycles.
