i have searched all the posts i can think of trying to find out how to REMOVE the valve seals from the head? i found a great tip for REPLACING the seals but nothing on getting them off the head. any tips would be much appreciated.

Hook 'em with a seal pick - you can't re-use them anyway.

thanks dave, when you mention "seal pick" do you mean such as a dental pick? tried dental pick and bent it???

Try a paint can opener. Works great.
Be careful when asking for them at Lowes, Home Depot..... You may have to duck when they throw them at you!

Here's using a 'proper' seal remover tool. Go for the smallest size you can find.

Do note the blue 'nylon cup' insert in the valve well. This is extremely important to ensure you do not scratch anything as you insert the tool or as you pull the seal!Aris

Here are pictures from another thread. See the 35mm plastic film cartridge! If you cut one of them lengthwise and cut a narrow slice off, they will make excellent protectors for the hole the valve sits in. You don't want to mar the walls with the tool as the bucket needs to slide in there.
