Hi all,
Only because I have never ridden, heard or even seen another CBX other then mine:
I have a slight engine vibration that can be felt on the hand grips that I start to notice at approx 4000 rpm. No big deal but it's definately there and it seems to be a frequency that would match crankshaft speed. Is this normal ??
Thanks
Jay

...and then it's gone at higher revs? Mine does this too.

Re: A slight engine vibration
I will twist it a little further...my '79 does not do it but my '81 has a slight tingle/vibration at around 4000 but only on the way down off the gas.

When was your last tuneup? (Carb sync?)

Re: A slight engine vibration
Carbs have only been bench synced. Guess I need to get the tooling and educate myself on the finer art of syncing the CBX Carb.
Maybe this is another book opportunity for Mike Nixon

Re: A slight engine vibration
A carb sync will not address an issue that occurs at 4,000 rpm.
Any device (here: a motor) that produces a range of frequencies and is connected to a resonating body (here: a frame, bodywork, accessories etc) will create a resonance of some kind somewhere when it goes through that frequency range.
If you would disassemble your CBX and reassemble it, you would find that your vibration would either be gone or occur at a different rpm.
I suggest, you loosen and re-tghten all engine mounts and see what effect that has on your vibration. Other than that, I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Glad to know the situation is normal.
