Another FNG

Post by 79CBXER »

Hey guys another FNG to join the club. I purchased a 1979 Silver CBX from my good friend Kerry in Maine. Its bone stock except for a DG 6 into 1 pipe. A few tank dings but the OEM paint is still good. it has 25,000 on the OD. I will post some pictures soon. I'm a motorcycle nut I have a Triumph Speedtriple and a Harley Softtail also. One question for the experts (How many quarts of oil does the 1050 engine take? I haven't received my Shop Manual from TIMS yet I I believe she need some ne 20w50.

Keep the rubber side down Charlie in Colorado 8)

Welcome to the ICOA Forum, 79CBXER! Hope you enjoy what you find here and, please, stay involved!
The oil quantity for an oil change is 4.2 quarts or 4.0 liters, including filter change. When you check the oil level, make sure the bike stands upright (on center stand) and do not screw in the filler cap/dipstick. Just place it on top of the filler hole.

Hi ya, FNG.
A Harley, Speed Triple and a CBX? Now that is an eclectic trio.
