The picture is not clear enough for me to tell - can you get a close-up?

Thanks Dave. It's funny how you can loose tools to the garage pixies and at the same time parts show up from who knows where.daves79x wrote:Ross:

Actually, it is a terra incognita; a constituent piece either included at the time of manufacture or set in place as a replacement for the original piece, and is made of various metal alloys consisting mainly of copper and zinc.

Had the six-shooter out lately?
Check the Wild Bill chain about half-way down this page. That HAS to be it.

Re: What's this?
Steve, it sure is a close match except mine is only 10mm long. No 6 shooters in this house but there are times when working on the bike I think it might be a good idea.steve murdoch icoa #5322 wrote:Had the six-shooter out lately?

Those of you who know me, will forgive me for asking, because they know I am a little slow...but where is the link (pun intended) between the mystery part and the Wild Bill chain

Well, I am not THAT slow. I did that, but I still can't make a connection, other than the color is similar.

Ooooops sorry If you look at the chains the end piece that would go through a button hole looks like the item I found on the floor.EMS wrote:ajs350 wrote: Check out the link in Steve's post

Just another one of my very poor attempts at humour, Mike.
I bet George will know what it is.

Re: What's this?
Steve: I don't think it was a poor attempt. I like to think of myself as having a little sense of humor. And after I was helped a little looking for the right thing, I think it is actually funny. Especially, as I am quite fond of some of the American Western history, Wild Bill Hickock and Billy the Kid in particular. I have been to the places where both of their lives ended, several times.steve murdoch icoa #5322 wrote:Just another one of my very poor attempts at humour, Mike.
