hi to everyone, after owning a 79z for 18 years ,selling it to fund a family holiday to florida???? ten years ago. i have got myself another one,met the seller at a drag strip(i also have four kawa triples and race a 500) and collected it two weeks later and could not resist having one run! it was great.but as it has always been my wives favourite bike as pillion passenger i did not abuse it! anyway i am doing a winter refurb.(not resto) and hope to get to know like minded owners and benefit from the great resources on this forum. :)

Hi all, looking forward to studying this great bike.

I sat on one back in 1979 but could not swing the cash to buy one, being a sailor in Uncle Sam's navy meant living on poverty wages back then.

Now, after 31 years I have one, a beautiful Red 1979 with 2,900 miles, original tires, kept in a cliamte controlled storage facility.

I think she is to nice to ride daily, especially with 31 year old tires, so I will be looking for a daily rider in the future. For now I can hardly wait to get her up and running.

Haha, you better duck now Copper! This crowd mostly says 'Ride 'em'! But if you have a cherry low-mile survivor, it's a worthy investment and worth preserving, much moreso than a bike like mine that has been all the way apart and came back together with impure parts ;-).

I like your plan personally - One CBX to enjoy in it's pristine originality and another to ride.

Welcome to the site!
