rebuild head
I need to rebuild my head On my 79 CBX. Should be a challenge. Never done it before. Prior to rebuilding it, I do have another head on an 80 CBX. I understand that I can pour kerosine or something thin down the plug holes of the 80 head. If the kerosine does not leak through the valves, this head may be ok.

Duane, With the head off you can pour Kero down the inlet/exhaust tracts to look for excessive weeping around the valve seats. Reason people use Kero is that it "wicks" through cracks...
With the head on, bring the engine up to compression & with a plastic tube to your ear listen for different leak rates, probing the areas...
