EMS, I tightened the starter and battery grounds, to no avail. I have started the operation and I am going in. After 10 minutes and much dirt under my fingernails, I have encountered an impasse: the starter refuses to exit due to a never-seen-before (at least by me) obstruction. I removed the ground cable bolt at the starter and also the drive sprocket cover spacer. Theres a funny little starter bracket loosely pivoting on the rear motor mount in the way, and it won't drop down enough to clear the starter motor. Does the final drive chain need to be removed to get that funny little bracket to drop the extra 1/4", or what? :suspect: I haven't a clue what to do next except to ask the computer for answers via the ICOA BB. Thankfully the patient is under sedation w/ battery disconnected and doesn't feel a thing or even realize its surgeon has never removed a CBX starter in his life.

Give dyno-dan the cupie doll , thats the culprit. Until the replacement relay arrives, I've been tapping the relay to start it and whipping the my cbx for all its worth. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
BTW, to remove starter I bent the tang on the starter bracket to clear it, and bent it back to finish. Also used a hammer and wood punch to persuade it out of its oriface. An unneeded exercise, but undressing a cbx while drinking a Pilsener in your garage one of the better things in life.
