79 CBX Running 1/2 power UPDATE.
New discovery and symptom:
*** Discovered that I'm getting spark on all 6 only for the first 10 seconds, then cylinders 2 & 5 fail to spark. Both these are tied to the #3 coil (on the right side). After pulling the plug wire out of the coil and sticking a screw driver into it in order to arc a spark against the frame, I got NO spark.
It looks like this coil went bad.

Also test your igniter unit for the questionable cylinders,if one of the spark units has gone tango uniform,it will just plain ole not work.Time for a Dyna S unit??

POOR SPARK
Hey Bob,
I'm sure Mark hit the nail on the head. It's more than likely your spark units under the battery box. Very costly because all three are molded together on the early models. It's a much better deal and better ignition to install Dyna Ignition.
