Dyna-S ignition adjustment

Post by piit »

It seems that ignition plate does not have enought space to do adjustment. I am doing dynamic adjustment based on the shop manual and the ignition is in behind but cannot turn the plate. Before I start to modify plate´s screw holes I would like to hear is this common issue with dyna-s plates?
Cheers, piit

It's been so long since I adjusted mine I forgot....
If the original Honda pulser plate matches up fine, I would think it's a design flaw. The timing shifts with primary drive chain wear or incorrect primary shaft assembly. Also mechanical advancer unit wear....

Hi and thanks, but the original Honda pulser plate was succesfully installed and ignition "mechanical" adjusted after the primary and cam chains replacing, so that´s not the case now. I never did dynamic adjustment with the original pulser plate because the mechanical style adjustment was ok.
Anyway I grinded the dyna-s plate so much that the dynamic adjustment could be done.
Just came from the test ride and seems to be work ok.
Still wondering this dyna-s plate adjustment and would like to still hear other experiences.
Cheers, piit
