Ignition Units Cooling
Anyone who has had a seat off has noticed those three little things with the fins sitting behind the air inlet to the air filter. Ever wonder why the air inlet is the shape and location it is? That's so that the air inlet can pull cooling air over those three thingys: the ignition pulsar units. At 4200rpm, the air is moving between 25 - 30 mph into the air box through that opening. That's pretty good airflow around the ignition units. Should you decide to go to individual air filters, eliminating the stock filter/intake box and this cooling air flow, consider the type of riding you do and where you might be doing it: hot weather, stop-and-go, long stretches at high speed, etc. Just could be some heartburn. You've heard of problems with the pulsars: the problem is heat. Not saying that changing the air intake is a guaranteed failure. BUT, you might keep it in mind. Nothing helps electrical units like cooling! Alternators, rectifiers, AND, ignition units.

And, that will, certainly, work. Also, eliminates any concern about the pulsars. Some day, I'll get over the 'cheaps' and get a Dyna unit, too.
