I think you probably got a good deal on the pipes. I was watching them, too. I figured anything less than $750 would be pretty good, and you did that. They'll make a nice addition to your bike. Hard to find rust-free. The 469s were '80 pipes - different baffling supposedly and are pretty hard to find in any decent shape. Keep us posted.

Great collection of CB750Ks, twinegar, good to have you here! I have a project I am working on for the last 7 years: The restoration of a CB750K76  I may ask you for some pointers

OK EMS and thanks. If you need any close-ups of the 76 750 let me know. The bike is showroom mint and I will help any way I can. I can tell you that the 76 runs smooth as silk and any small glitches that the earlier 750's had were ironed out for that bike. It doen't take your breath away at a full throttle take off like the first couple of years did but it sure is smooth as silk and still has the top end. On the other hand, I restored my 69 with the original #140 main jets and crotch rocket about sums it up for me.

Having an obssessive/compulsive personality you will probably see more of that from me in the future. You don't get a bike collection like I have by being normal. No offence to any "O/C" collectors like me that just don't know it yet. The CBX I bought last night is the second in 2 weeks.
EBAY NUMBERS: 290168682604 and 190163612350. I have ordered all the parts to bring the first one back to OEM and once I locate an exhaust will have the other one back to stock also. I was lucky enough that both are driving distance and can be picked up in the same trip. Any time I can save on shipping is a plus. My oldest son rides with me when family stuff allows and I didn't want him struggling to keep up with my CBX on one of my 750's. >>>Anywho, if anyone has suggestions or comments about the bikes I just bought feel free. I am new with the CBX and would welcome any help until I educate myself. Just please don't tell me I spent too much. I will have them here by Wednesday and tagged by Thursday and pictures posted at my website by the weekend: http://www.spookytoms.com/SpookyTom-MTRCCLSTF.html

Niiiice. Mine's silver too. Love it! I also have an OE set of tank stripes in their original round shipping cans. Since they're not supposed to be simple water transfer decals (I've been told) I just haven't gotten around to trying to put them on.

To get back to the original topic of this thread (is it one that I hijacked?) a 6 into 6. I have an old Denco 6 into 6. The cans are rotten but the head pipes are good. I've sandblasted them clean. I bought a muffler from J C Whitney and it's about the same size as the Denco cans. The baffle is not removable and it's (the baffle) pretty small diameter, could be the world's first quiet 6 into 6 for the CBX. I'm going to work on adapters to weld to the head pipes to clamp the muffler to. There's no center stand on the bike it's going on so I don't need a stop for that and I believe I can attach a stop on the side stand. That should simplify things. I'll try it out on a prolink also and (hopefully) make it work with saddlebags. If it works, the only thing that would need to be duplicated are the head pipes to make a 6 into 6. I know companies that would make them but they usually want a production run of 50. The left and right head pipes should be identical from side to side so that would be a total of 25 exhaust systems. I'kk post some pic's when I get bacl to Chuka Vista. Who moved the 'l' and 'k' on my leyboard? Where's Dan?
