Be lucky, black shells are the thickest that are available.
My originals were 5 black and 2 brown.
My favorite shells are blue (1,504mm) and not available any more over the whole world.

There is so little difference between the colors that if a blue is indicated, you can easily go one size thicker or one size thinner and still be well within spec. I've played around a bit with this and if you land anywhere in the mid-range of clearance, you'll be fine. Brand new, these crank and rod bearing clearances were hardly ever on the tight end. Usually right in the middle.

Re: 1982 Pro-Link Rescue
My main bearings plastigauged as follows :
1 : .051
2 : .051
3 : .051
4 : .076
5 : .051
6 : .051
7 : .076
The bearing surfaces shows wear on all of them, my thinking is that I should replace all main bearings with same color or thicker after meassuring the crank journals for wear and hopefully get closer to .035.
Im having some difficulties plastigauging the big end conrod bearings, mainly because it seems impossible to remove the cap after tightening/loosing the nuts, without disturbing the meassurment. I do not want to tap them with a plastic mallet, but wiggling them of does not work. Any trick to getting them off easily?
All of the big end bearings shows wear as well, so Im starting to think that plastigauging them at this stage is pointless if I have to replace them anyway.
My new plan is to get a better micrometer and :
1. Meassure all journals
2. Order bearings accordingly.
3. Plastigauging new bearings to double check fitment.
Some good news, the Pipemasters I ordered are ready for shipment, guess I will just have to sit and imagine how they sound until I can get this engine mess put toghether.

Re: 1982 Pro-Link Rescue
For plastigauging the big end the pin end shoud be connected to the piston within the cylinder/ upper crankcase assembly.
For removing the caps take a copper hammer and make slight hits in 90 degree to rotation, from both sides.
Final gap with Carrillos dia. 39.000mm and new blue shells, all bearings are polished by a specialiced company in Germany:

Re: 1982 Pro-Link Rescue
Thanks for the suggestions!
While waiting for my new bearings, I got the opportunity to buy new/old parts from a vendor on marketplace.
Maybe you guys could chime in on how rare this is, to me it feels like it anyway.
New -81 front fender.
New -81 side covers.
New rear bumper.
4 new and 1 old brake disc
New -80 frame, no markings on headtube
Spare part sticker.
Some non CBX parts :
New CB750 F top end
New and old cams
