Oldham Coupler Lube?

Hello,

I'm putting in my cams and I have a quick question. In all the guides and videos I've seen, they appear to put the cam joints in dry without specifying whether to lube them or not. It doesn't feel quite right for them to be dry, is this the proper way to install them?

They can be lubed with a little oil, not really necessary as they will will be well-lubed as soon as oil pressure builds. I always crank dry engines with the kill switch off until the oil light goes off. Then let it sit for a while before actually starting.

Whenever ANY 2 rotating/sliding parts are assembled, there should be lubrication of some sort, oil, grease, assembly lube, whatever.

This goes for pistons, rings, gears, o-rings, seals and even bolts for proper torque.

I learned a LONG time ago.......a little lube goes a long way.
