Dyna ignition spark plug gap

I recently installed dyna coils + ignition on my 1982 CBX , also did the same on my 1976 Honda Gold Wing , on one of the Gold wing forums it was recommended to gap the plugs @ .032 th-.035 th instead of .025 th to get the full advantage of the fatter spark , just wandering if it would be wise to do the same with the cbx .

This all makes good sense to me, but I did nothing special vis a vis the plug gap with my own ‘80 with the Dyna ignition and coils and it starts instantly and runs great. Just a data point.

It's probably one of those changes which would result in a minute difference if any at all ,my 79 & 82 both work fine with the dyna coils & ignition with the plug gapped @ .025 thou , but was just wandering if anyone had done this and what difference it made.

The whole idea behind stronger/hotter coils is to provide a higher energy
stronger spark that will easily jump a wider gap. This ignites a larger area
of the compressing fuel/air charge yielding a more complete burning flame
front. = more power.
I'm struggling with all the right wording here but it should result in easier
starting and much better throttle response. It will hurt nothing to try widening
the gap to .030"-.032" and I bet you will feel the difference. You're wasting
the power of the coil by limiting the gap to .025".

I'm sure someone can explain this this better than I can but

Goofy analogy: you have your charcoal and starter fluid ready to be lit.
Which will light it more quickly and completely, a match stick or a lightning bolt ?
Which will have the fire ready for the steaks sooner ?

I agree with all of the above & your simple layman's language explanation makes alot of sense .
