Findings;

Wrong needles, possible DJ. Really pin tip.

Jets were keihin jets, but 120 main, and 80 primary.

Now looking for correct needles, and jets.
Anyone has spares, please let me know, i need to put it all back together
One day, i’ll have em all finished.

I have a set of vb62 carbs.
Would those needles work with my vb60 carbs ? Same needles ?

Salman, I would use only OEM jets and needles. I probably have the stock
#65 and #98 jets but sadly no needles. I'll try to get out to my shop and find
the jets if you need them.
The needles for the VB60 carbs are stamped 05F, all others are 55A (thanks
Larry, Dave).

BTW his needles were clip/groove type, likely DJ.

oops, a little duplication.

OK - the needles you need for the VB60 carbs, are marked 05F. The 55A needles in your VB62 carbs will not work. You may be stuck using aftermarket needles.

I can tell you with certainty that your carbs were jetted for pods. If the jets are genuine Keihin, 80 and 120, the needles should be stock. 80 and 120 jets would never work correctly with DJ adjustable needles. Are you sure of what needles you have?

You need Keihin 65 and 98 jets and stock needles if you are using the stock airbox and filter (either paper or foam - NOT K&N).

No, I don't have any stock needles to spare. I keep all of mine for customer rebuilds. These will be extremely expensive if you find them, buying $500 parts carbs are the only way to get them unless someone happens to have them laying around.

Yes, the jets are keihin 80 and 120, however the needles are not stock. Which would make sense why the bike ran poorly with and without the airbox.

Yes i will be running stock filter and stock airbox

That is the most radical (stage 3) of the Dyna-Jet needles. Those, coupled with the 80/120 jets you took out, would yield about 15mpg and a whole of carbon build-up in the head. Get it sorted all back to stock and then run it like you stole it.

Seems like i have found the correct needles, and some jets as well. They will require some cleaning, but i have found some pieces, and weirdly i had owned them for years without knowing lol

Thanks to tevan for offering me his spare needles to purchase.

Are the float bowl gaskets available by themselves ? Is there a part number that i cant find ?
I am thinking, to might as well change them, since carbs are already off.
They werent leaking prior to removal, but look fairly squished

Here's what we always come back to - you are time and money ahead just getting the proper carb rebuild parts up front, then completely disassembling, cleaning and rebuilding them. Then it's done. But yes, you can buy bowl gaskets from several suppliers separately. Just remember, down the road, you will be buying them again as part of a quality, comprehensive carb rebuild kit.
