Choke Lever perch Question
On the choke lever shaft which slides into handlebar perch there is a small spring in a hole with a set screw within the perch I have the spring and set screw but it appears to have a corresponding ball …..maybe? that indexes within the groove on the choke lever shaft
I do not have that ball? If that’s what it is ?
It does not show as a part on the microfiche
I got this bike in pieces in boxes so it’s an interesting puzzle but I’m making great progress on full restoration
I could disassemble my present CBX and it’s choke lever but I’m sure my fellow members would enlighten me
If it is a ball where could I get one any ideas TIA

Re: Choke Lever perch Question
It is not a ball, it is a small cylinder with a conical end. The pointy end of the cone goes into the groove. Sorry don’t have a picture handy.

You got the bike "in pieces in boxes" ? Man I hope the rest of it wasn't disassembled
to that extent or you REALLY do have a puzzle on your hands !

Re: Choke Lever perch Question
Bought 2 1979 Z models that have been sitting for 10 + years mostly all there both rollers with engines in chassis but one has been stripped down to basic roller shape both provided plenty of room for few generations of rodents to call home
Doing best one first and making great progress will be running soon hopefully PO says both ran when parked
Few pics attached now I own 3 of these marvelous machines

Re: Choke Lever perch Question
Could you take a pic and maybe I could make one if it’s as you say using a machine screw of that diameter or a drill bit ground to conical end
Sounds doable with a photo as a guide……anyone please

Re: Choke Lever perch Question
Someone (me, I guess) will have one of those. I'd just sell you a whole used perch and you could scavenge parts.

Re: Choke Lever perch Question
We might have a loose one from a damaged perch at the shop, but Nils and I are both out of town for another week or so
