Hi everybody, very happy to be in this interesting forum.
All my life enjoyed building and restoring motorcycles.
I was born in Holland and at age 14 we started to build our own motocross bikes already. Names at that time were DKW, Kreidler and Zundapp.
Immigrated to Canada in 1977 and raced motocross for about 6 years on Suzuki bikes.

Currently I own a Honda 900F SuperSport that I completely restored in the Bol D’Or colours.
Very nice bike!
I bought a 1982 Prolink about 8 years ago that I am restoring now. I am doing this one in the same colours as the 900F, so I have two matching bikes.
The CBX will be a naked bike with a 6 into 6 exhaust system. I retired 5 years ago and have more time now to work on the bikes. My childhood dream came true!
Currently I am rebuilding and polishing the carbs.
Also I am building a custom air filter setup.
Hope to have the CBX on the road this summer.
I will try to send some pictures soon.

Thanks,
Paul Van Oss.

Paul,

Welcome to the site. I'm about 2 hours from you over in the states.

A word of caution on reinventing the air intake for the CBX. The Honda engineers spent a lot of time to get it just right for the CV carbs. We've found that the smallest of changes can alter the performance and usually not for the better. Just replacing the paper filter with a K&N will alter the vacuum signal that's critical for trouble-free operation. But, don't let me stop you. You're not the first to try. Let us know how it works out.

Welcome to the site, Paul.
Looking forward to seeing some pics of your new ride.
Plenty of us here have also owned DOHC-F bikes. Feel free to post a pic of it as well.

There's a guy named James just outside of London who's been trading in used CBX parts for >30 years. I've dealt with him a few times, very good guy with a good supply of stuff. Hit me on PM if you want his contact info.

I actually know James, he lives about 10 minutes from me.
He still has a lot of CBX parts and complete bikes.

That's gonna be a very cool-looking set of bikes!

Maybe you should do a CB400T in the same colors after the CBX is done.

Look like 29mm smoothbores on the F? Any issues?
Years ago i had a set of 33mm smoothbores on an 1100F and other than an annoyingly stiff throttle return it ran well.

I am rebuilding the VM29 smoothbores as we speak.
The bike runs very nice with them and sounds awesome.

Absolutely beautiful work, the frame looks stunning in red and that engine, wow, just sick!

Hey guys here some pictures I took during the restoration over the last seven years.
It has been a really satisfying project so far.
