2008 Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Show

Post by EMS »

I could not go to Luray, as originally planned, so I had to find something different motorcycle related close by. Fortunately, on Saturday, October 11, the Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Show took place at the Museum in Pickerington. I knew that Mark Mederski had been scrambling to get more bikes for the show and the poor response was evident, somehow. Especially in the Japanese section, there were only a few bikes and except for a really nice Kawasaki Z1 nothing for my personal taste.
Here are a few pictures. Again, my personal taste.

That CB350 Kafe belongs to Tom Bartels of Hamilton, Ohio. I ran into him the next day at the Alley Shop meet in Cincinnati. He says he's painting it red this winter as the aluminm just won't polish out to the shine he wants.......
At the Alley Shop, he was riding his highly customized 919. Very nice also.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Anyone spot the mistake on the Norton Manx or is it an International engined special ? Whichever, there is a fundamental mistake, quite small though...

It is a 1952 Norton Manx, owned by a guy named Gary Maucher from PA.
Here is a link with a little video where he talks about it. Unfortunately, there is a cut in it and it is missing a little, maybe the explanation of your q, Larry. Also, scroll down to the pictures and you see a shot of Dick Gunderson's CBX engine. He was parked close to us when we left.

Chin pad... With a flyscreen fitted it was normal for "pudding basin" helmeted riders to rest their chin on the tank when flat out. This tank pad (as fitted) would not support this duty but would support the larger belly ...
