First longer ride on my '82 Prolink that I brought back to life. This one likes to eat up the miles and rather effortlessly.

Very nice. Can you share a bit about your gear and/or settings? We're at a point now where a shot like this could maybe come from a phone if you got everything right, but it doesn't look like a phone photo.

It is a great photo and taken with a real camera (Nikon D750 130mm f/4.8 1/320 sec ISO 125 - from the file info).

Thanks!

Now I feel dumb for pixel-peeping instead of checking EXIF, AND for not being able to tell the difference between a phone and a 130mm lens on an FX sensor.

Not the "Best photo of my CBX" but a group shot of a cbx meetup is infrequent and always a good thing. Paul, Devin and myself out enjoying some great weather, coffee and burritos.

Very nice, Robert.
I bet you three got a lot of attention.

Apologies if i have asked before, what chain guard are you using?

It wasn't difficult to standout when most stops are dominated by swarms of V twins. With a little bit of coordination effort we could probably arrange for another 2 or 3 cbx's to join us.

I converted the cbx swingarm to a GS1000e swingarm, chrome GS chain-guards are rare and expensive so I made this one out of alloy and polished it. I had the the free material in my scrap bin so it only cost me an afternoon's labour.

Well done.
I have an '82 GS1100E swingarm on my '79 and purchased an '81 GS1100E chainguard which were chrome. A little massaging and it should fit.

That's my ZK exhaust, has a 2" pipe at the end, it came new with oil and carbon deposits so they ran it, looks really cool, put it together in my apartment.
Whoa - I don't know how I slept on that exhaust photo for so long. That pipe looks just beautiful. Does he just build and sell directly on ebay or is there more info about that setup somewhere else online?

Anyhow, I was looking for photos of the short primaries on my exhaust today and realized that I really like this photo - another one from the same set that I've shared a few times in this thread over the years:

My family and I have been hit hard by the various covid disruptions - mainly money and time. I was obviously hoping to have the bike converted to EFI and back on the road some time ago, but we're not there yet. In the meantime, I look at these photos and research routes for fun multi-day rides my wife and I can go on once we get clear of this mess and have the resources to enjoy riding together again!

Mine was purchased on eBay and I received it from FedEx 3-4 days later which was unnecessary as it's still in the box.
I haven't bought a muffler yet.
Here's one that's available

My Kerker 6 into 2 is still OK

Looks like they are permanently closed, it's a high-quality exhaust and will be extremely rare now.

Thanks. I had some correspondence with Zak via ebay. He wasn't very helpful, but he's still actively making exhausts and selling them on ebay. He can handle requests for features like O2 sensor bung, etc.

As I understand it, this exhaust won't work with a center stand - is that correct?

Yes, the left pipe crosses over below where the center stand hinges on the bike.
It looks like you will need a Motorcycle Lift Stand (about $150)
or the exhaust is connected with springs and can be removed in a few minutes and the center stand can be put back on for oil changes.
I'm glad he is still around to ask some questions.

P.S. I hope you get one that will help me immensely.
