Six Sixes!
Whew, we got SIX CBXes together down in Albuquerque NM today! That’s:
• 36 cylinders
• 144 valves
• 19 exhausts (weird, huh?)
From left to right, the bikes & owners are:
• Steve Steenrod’s stunning 79 CBX
• MIke Venhaus’ black 79
• Me & my red 79
• Jeff McCampbell and his white 82
• Jack Jason and his black 80
• Stu Bloom and his red 79
Anybody top that recently?

Re: Six Sixes!
You forgot the cumulative age of the riders. That would be the most impressive number! I am guessing 337 years.....

Re: Six Sixes!
Combined weight of bikes and riders would be pretty serious, but total cc's would be the biggest number, I would think. :)
Looks like a great time, thanks for sharing!

Re: Six Sixes!
I do believe that I see one of my old CBX's in that photo. Is that the fabulous
Mike Venhaus I see on it? A great individual. The person that I got that bike from
is well known to some of us old timers. I got it from Tom Whaley a bit before he passed away.
Very Best,
Phil

There's a name I haven't heard in a while. He was a wealth of knowledge.
Rick Pope
Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Re: Six Sixes!
Rick,
He really was a wealth of knowledge. He was also a warm and wonderful human being.
He was the first that I knew reproducing the clutch rubbers and some other things.
When his health started to fail he seemed to think that I should have his parts, books, and
motorcycles at a price point that I could not refuse. The old Smokin' Joe CBX is what is in
the photo above. I gave Mike the same deal that was given to me as I knew it was going to
the right place to be loved and cared for. By the looks of it now, I made a good choice.
Very Best,
Phil
