Z1 Parts specializes in Repro parts for old Kawas. I am not sure they even sell a 4-1 for the Z1-900. Their 4-4s are famous. I am sure it was a typo by the author.
I would be more concerned about other descriptions about some bikes being called "highly original". And it is obvious thay are not. One seller sells 4 or 5 CBXes all "authenticated by the ICOA" and recommissioned by a well-known member of the CBX community and funny enough, their odometers all read in the 8000s.
Mecum has lost its luster for me quite a while ago. Not only their Motorcycle auctions. But they are the worst.
I would be more concerned about other descriptions about some bikes being called "highly original". And it is obvious thay are not. One seller sells 4 or 5 CBXes all "authenticated by the ICOA" and recommissioned by a well-known member of the CBX community and funny enough, their odometers all read in the 8000s.

For an actual rider I think I’d prefer the retro sport version of the famed Z1. I like mine a lot as 26,000 miles thru eight states will attest.

My friend Adam Tromp has been banned for life from Mecum Auctions for calling them out on their underhanded dealings. Auction houses such as Mecum, BJ, Silverstone, Bonhams, BaT and Iconic etc. are NOT authenticators of motor vehicles, nor have they ever advertised they are. Caveat emptor is the motto of any auction.
Title transfers have been a problem at some of these auction houses that sell bikes that are not in their possession, the vetting process is not standardized but individual to each auction house. Buyer Beware!
