As mentioned in other postings, I've partnered with Kurt from KM Carburetor selling various components. These are mostly "rubber like" parts but not always as we look to broaden our product offerings.
Further to that, we'll offer a clutch damper replacement service where we'll remove the existing rivets, tap the holes for the new fasteners and reassemble the basket with new dampers.
We can do this for not only the '79 and '80 CBX but, for the DOHC 4 cylinder bikes as well. (CB750F, CB900F, CB1100F, etc.)
Many of these bikes are now due for this service due to age deterioration, mileage and use/abuse.
Excessive noise is the first indicator and can be tested for movement of the gear to the basket with the clutch cover removed.
The labor charge is $125 + the cost of the dampers + return shipping. ('80 CBX Clutch Basket shown below).
Send me or Kurt a PM if interested.

Re: Clutch Damper Replacement Service

Re: Clutch Damper Replacement Service
It is a bargain. That’s not a difficult job but it does involve grinding and drilling and tapping, the special screws, the damper rubbers, etc.

Re: Clutch Damper Replacement Service
I completed a rebuild for a local CBX'er that had worried about it for over 5 Years.
He road tested his '79 today and the clutch is significantly quieter.
He's happy, I'm happy, the bike is happy and it doesn't sound like a Ducati anymore.
