This part, 11344-422-000 seems to be obsolete and mine looks iffy.

But as I have never had the pleasure of looking at a brand new one, I wonder if mine is still OK and I should stop worrying about those lips and tiny cracks developing ...
Thanks, Aris

I'd replace that too if it were me. Oddly enough, mine is black (A model). If you don't find one locally or here, of course Louis is bound to have a bushel of them.

I think the one in my '79 is broken in two for a long time, and it still is in place.

Aris:
It is a bit scruffy, but typical. Really good ones, or any for that matter are kind of hard to come by. Not really needed if you or anyone else is in a real bind, but you need equalivent washers or another bottom spacer will work.

So as I read you chaps, I will continue using mine, while having my eyes open in case I come across a better one in the future.
Thanks for the advice, Aris

Aris, if that black line is a crack, I'd look for a welder. Or, as Dave mentioned, just replace it with some spacers. Cracked things have a way of fracturing/separating; and, ending in the wrong place at the wrong time.
