CBX Hydraulic Clutch

Post by Lee D'Amico »

Can any one tell me if there is a honda part or after market hydraulic clutch that can be put on a 82 cbx one that works fine with out a fortune invested and without changing the entire bike to fit it. Also for a different look i have been toying with the idea of removing the fairing and mounting dual head lights butttt keeping everything so i can switch them back and forth year to year. Any help would be nice Lee

TIMS have a unit for the CBX. I've seen it: rather good and slick. Fairly easy/straight-forward installation as those things go. Not exactly cheap: I think in the $600 - $700 range. BUT, when you get finished fooling around with any other attempt at a Rube Goldberg, my opinion is that you'll wish you had paid the bucks. Having said that, I, personally, don't see much wrong with the cable.

Dave Krager just figured out all the Magura parts needed to do this for much less dosh on an early model, and documented it all really well. You know where to find him :-).

A used VFR unit can also be adapted. Relatively cheap components and original Honda to boot. I think I paid $35 for the lever with master cylinder, lines and slave cylinder on ebay for the cheapest set. Another one was around $60.- with components bought separately. 8)
