Air box clip
Hi All, I cannot figure out how to get this clip to hold down the lid of the airbox.
Granted the screws should put enough pressure to hold it down,
Do recall when I got the bike the clip was not down either.
Does the seat perhaps hold the clip down, doesn't make much sense to rely on the seat to hold the clip down though. Thanks for any help.

By the way the clip attach points are properly inserted into the small openings.

Re: Air box clip
It should snap on it fairly easy. Make sure the top snorkel is in the grooves of the airbox.

+1 What tevan said. It is always a little fiddle to make sure the top lid sits correctly to allow the clip to snap over. Make sure to push it in all the way towards the front and then down in the rear.

In addition, after verifying that the lid is on properly, your bail might be bent. You may have to put less or more of a radius in it to get it to stay latched.

Re: Air box clip
Well, I played with it a bit more, and here's what I found, The front end is warped pretty bad. Attached is a pic.
There is a about 3mm difference in the middle portion. Checked the mating portion and its flat across.
How this got so warped I have no idea.
The ends are pretty flat to adjacent line of airbox cover, telling me its the center portion that is warped. Think I may have to heat this up and try to bend it back into place, so it fits better, then play with the bail radius.
Any suggestions on how to heat this up and bend it back?
Not looking forward to this fix.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

So, today I went out to shop for a heat gun, can always use it in the garage.
Heated it up and bent it back into shape no problem.
Also adjusted the bail and now it closes perfectly and a good seal as well.
Very happy how it turned out.
