Going up 2 teeth in the rear?

@ 70 mph I’m turning 4,200 revs and @ 80, 5,000. If I went up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket would be revs increase more than say, 500? Also, would the 108 link chain suffice or do you add 1-2 links? Looking for a lil more ‘snap’.

One tooth in the front is aprox. 400 to 500 rpms and make a nice difference. 2 teeth in the rear would do the trick!

What are your revs at 70 & 80?

I didn’t remember my other 82 being so calm in acceleration so I counted the teeth. Front has 18 but the rear has just 38! No wonder it’s kinda…calm-ha. I think I’ll try an OEM 42 to wake it up.

Had new 18/42 sprockets and a DID O ring chain installed along with angled valve stems today. Rebalanced the tires. What a difference in acceleration from the 38 tooth sprocket. Now (that’s) the hot rod I remember! I’m used to more modern faster smoother bikes since selling my other CBXs but I think this one vibrates more above 80 than I remember. I have a fork brace coming. I’ve never run Kenda tires that this one has. I sorta remember Avons, Pirelli and Dunlops. What’s everyone running these days? I like a sticky tire but I’ll also be touring.

I've been running and recommending Shinko Tour Masters. Usually 1 speed rating higher than most. Economical too.

I've run both Shinko and Kenda. Good tires both. That 38 was definitely not a performance sprocket. As for vibration, check tire balance first. Then, look for runout and alignment. My experience says a fork brace does nothing for vibration. Something is either out of balance, not square or not round. OR, loose! (Including headstock)

I've been running these tires exclusively, they are outstanding. Great grip, wet-weather performance, long-wearing, you name it. Round profile that I prefer for smooth turn-in. Outstanding value.

I just inspected one of mine, no mention either way, but I am 99% sure they are bias ply.
