CBX Gauges Restoration - Bringing Back the Red

Post by PRose »

Hey everybody
I am in the final stages of successfully developing a restoration method for all the CBX Speedometer, Tach and Volt Meter gauge faces.
79, 80, 81 and 82 whether it be the 80 MPH or 150 MPH and either of the tachs, 10 or 11K.

I have posted a picture of the final Prototype of the 150 MPH speedo.
I will post the tach as soon as I have it ready.

These are the actual original Honda gauge faces that have been restored. They are not reproductions or God forbid, stickers :)
I take the original face plates and restore them to their original beauty.
The other great thing is, that if my prediction is correct, they will not fade again.
I am also working on restoring the needles as well and will a sample of those this week.

In addition, You will have a choice whether or not you want the gauges to have a back lit effect at night.
Honda painted the backs of the gauges silver so the light doesn't shine through.
If the silver is removed, the gauges have a GREAT back lighting that is SO cool!

Anyway, I will be providing restoration service within the next couple of weeks, so let me know if any of you are interested.
I have not worked out pricing yet, but will have that this week.

My initial idea for restoration services for the gauges are as follows:

Full restoration = You send me your gauges, I disassemble and reassemble them and send them back to you.
Face Plate Only = You send me your face plates and needles if you want them restored as well.

You guys can call me if you have any questions
Thanks
Pete Rose

That sounds great we always need another source to fix our gauges! Do you repair volt gauges as well?

Yes, I can do the volt meter as well.
I will have pictures of the tach and the volt meter in a couple of days.
I should have pricing by Monday.
I will post it as soon as I have it together.
Thanks for the questions
Pete
