Base Silver and Other Paint Questions

I've seen on the list mention of Honda's having used a base of metallic silver for its Candy Glory Red. I've got an unopened can of OEM Honda Candy Glory Red in acrylic lacquer and want to reshoot the tail and fender (the tank is nearly perfect). Could anyone recommend the siver base as well as a clear? I've used Ditzler products mostly but have never sprayed Honda lacquer. Were the original paint jobs done in lacquer in 1979. Thanks again.

Color Rite makes a base and top coat.

The base for Candy Glory Red is MA1075

Tap into their website. I had mine sent from California but I think they have a place in Pennsylvania.

I had the front fender painted on my silver 79. The guy did it with PPG paints. He called PPG with the paint code and they gave him the formula to mix it. Came out beautiful. I would think that they can handle the red too. Good luck
