.............forgot to mention that if you have a compressor you can also get a HVLP paint gun and then have the paint shop instruct you on how to mix, mine took me in back and wrote down the standard mixing technique and sent me home with a can of pigment and the other components plus free cups and stir sticks................a good way to create a new buying customer, my compressor is the pancake style and it did the job. On the Glory red you might need a gold base coat or whatever the paint match book instructs, I didn't have to do a base coat on my 72 CB750. I will use the gold base when I redo my fender.

I bet I know, how you know that Dave.
Look at any Candy Glory CBX that has sun fade and there are a lot of them out there, you will see the silver base coat big time. Honda's paint work back then wasn't anything to brag about, you can always tell a good repaint compared to an OEM paint job on a CBX, the repaint if done right always looks better.

Here is what I know about the silver base coat / fading.
Left out in the Wyoming sun.

I'm convinced it's silver!
I saw a 69 CB750 with a gold base under the Candy Ruby Red and it was stunning to say the least and it seemed to enhance the red more with the sun reflecting yellow back through the red.
