cbx750f raise height

hello,
I am restoring a 1984 cbx750f. I would like to try and raise the rear height of the bike. Does anybody have any tips or ideas on if this is possible? I was thinking longer rear shock or diffent shock linkage. Any help would be great. thanks, M
