This thread started seven years ago appears to have the most recent posts but could be updated by (removing) the misinformation here and in any other thread before anyone else fails or breaks something due to following the wrong info. Admin please? The incorrect directions should be thrown out.

If someone has found this, or any thread, they will soon find that far and away most of the info is accurate. The tiny screw in the Pro-Link knob is indeed a right-hand thread. That's really all I see wrong in this thread. The succession of posts here and in most threads usually sort out the issues. If you think there is misinformation here..........

The second post should be removed. And the post saying the screw is a JIS and not a Phillips type. Which is it?

You are making far too much of this. The screw is JIS Phillips.

The difference is in the leading angle of the point of the driver. Phillips bits have a larger angle and therefore don't bottom out in the JIS screws, causing slippage.”

I don't have JIS Phillips screwdrivers small enough to fit the tiny trip knob screw. Never had an issue getting one out. A mini screwdriver set for working on glasses, etc works just fine. They are never that tight. We all know about JIS Phillips for every other Honda screw on a CBX.
