I know I'm not alone when I say that it is absolutely wonderful to see another one of these great bikes restored to their glory and on the road.

Congratulations on your rebuild!
Looking forward to pics. I know what it feels like to finally throw a leg over a bike that was taken down to bare bones and ride away. Not on a CBX (yet), but it is awesome.
Enjoy- Steve

I really like the slight gold colour of the engine.

Re: finished my 79 finally
Thanks for posting the Pics Nils, I owe you!!! Yes it was a big undertaking but a labor of love!!, alot of the work done on my bike was accomplished by tips from members of this site. You all were truly my help and inspiration i have never taken on a project this big and the way approached it was one section at a time.My 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son helped beauty up the switch pods. (steady hands!) lots of help from Louis as well. Soda blasted the engine and painted as per this website (added a little twist) For tuning and engine work carb rebuilding syncing etc. Rick the owner of"" The Motor Cycle Shop" Hurst Texas was absolutely awesome, we have found our CBX mechanic in North Texas. I still have a little more work to do, and some technical questions for the gurus here. Sincere Thanks Guys. I hope this helps anyone else doing a restoration!

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Re: finished my 79 finally
Very nice! With a sport kit too. Was the slight golding of the engine paint an unintended consequence? I know there used to be a brand of silver 'high temp' paint that would turn slightly gold or yellow. Just curious as to what you used and what you thought of it. Looks like you did a fantastic job and really got it right.

Re: finished my 79 finally
Yes the slight Golding is an un expected consequence but is only on the cylinders and the exhaust Collete's i used the VHT paint posted by a member in this forum. and redid the entire engine after soda blasting I am happy with it though because it really brings out the chrome. Oh by the way if you read this Nils please note the shiny alternator cover, Still shining after all this time!!
