What is the best piston ring gap for a turbo application .Is it a min and max gap?

I set mine up like the piston/ring manufacturer suggests in the brochure that comes with the pistons/rings.



For my JE pistons in the Bonneville bike, it says "bore x 0.0050". What that means is if you have a 3" bore multiply it by 0.0050. So the ring end gap will be .015



These numbers apply to turbo and nitrous motors.

Oddly enough, it gives a different figure for each ring and they are;

1st ring=bore x .0050

2nd ring=bore x .0055

oil ring=minimum of .015



These are all minimum but remember, the more gap the more loss of compression/power.
