Aligning front hanger bolts

Jacked up the 79 engine into place today but had trouble locating the last front top engine hanger bolts on each side, jacking the engine higher just resulted in the whole bike starting to lift. Instead I just let the front tire down slowly (with jack still in place) everything then lined up perfect....probably luck but it worked....hope that is another solution to help prevent stripping out those threads in the frame!

Yep, I noticed that years ago, the CBX frame flexes.

I usually connect the front hangers (large brackets) first, after tilting the engine back up. Put all fasteners in finger thight and then add the rest.

Will try the putting on the large hangers first next time, thanks for the input. I suppose I should check and see what the manual recommends one day...... not that I will need to drop the engine again for a long, long time!!!!!!!!!!

I put a block of wood just to the rear of the oil filter and use a jack to jack the engine up and down while I line up all the bolts and brackets that hold it in place.
