transmission assembly

Have you ever had a CBX that you think might have had the engine apart and the transmission just doesn't feel right? Among other things, there are three different thickness thrust washers on the transmission shafts. If they're not in the correct positions, it'll feel funny or not work at all. A lot of people hear the word "transmission" and it scares them away. Shouldn't. It's really easy if you have an old parts manual. The manual breaks down the transmission in a detailed drawing. Very easy to figure out. When I do an assembly, I use the parts manual along with the shop manual. Here's what I'm talking about:

2361

2360

2359

2358

If I could post a little bigger, you could see ref # 15 is a 28mm thrust washer-4ea, ref # 16 is a 22mm thrust washer-2ea, and ref # 17 is a 24mm thrust washer-1ea

When assembling, it's easy to drop the tranny and have things all over. With the pic and reference #'s, it's a lot easier. I'm probably going to scan and post pic's in more detail somewhere like flickr when I get the time, it's time consuming. If you need me to email you one, let me know.
